The Skeleton king is known as being the first real boss in Diablo 3. His minions are undead creatures such as ghosts. He is most likely an already familiar character from the Diablo universe, known as King Leoric, who is the master of Khanduras land.
The first time the Skeleton King appeared was on the Wizard Trailer at the BlizzCon 2008.
