Torchlight the highly expected action RPG just released and it give some serious stuff to thing about in Diablo 3. Basically Torchlight is Diablo 2.5 and it gives you everything in Diablo 3, beside the multiplayer over Battle.net.
Moreover there is a whole mod community in Torchlight where you can alter anything in the game with there inhouse made level editor.
To sum up what differ Diablo 3 from Torchlight?
Graphics wise both games live up to todays graphics and in someway the Torchlight graphics is more interested because its cartoonish and more wowish (World of Warcraft) while Diablo 3 is more dark, bloody and gothic.
The gameplay is very much the same with killing massive mobs and collecting random items, here the games is very equal. Monsters act the same and the games have many similarities. Also with multiplayer options over Battle.net and a huge trading community will give Diablo 3 value.
Focus on replayability here is Diablo 3 a sure winner, because it brings more in depth content and story line and the gameplay is longer.
While torchlight have its own mod community and editor, it gives lots of endless modding to the game, where you can create your own levels.
We just have to wait and see what Blizzard have in there sleeves and how creative they will be before the Diablo 3 release.
